Jen McCarter, President

Jen McCarter is the 2019 PTO Board President. This is the third year she is on the board. Jen enjoys being at the school and helping out. She has a son, Duncan, in fourth grade and her daughter, Lila, is in second grade.

Jen holds a bachelor of science from Belmont University but found her true love in teaching yoga. She graduated from Sanctuary for Yoga in 2017 and is now a 500 hour certified yoga instructor working at Hot Yoga of East Nashville. She also hosts yoga retreats and special events at the studio. Jen and her family support JDRF. Her son was diagnosed with Type 1 at 16 months old and she and her family fight this disease daily.

In her spare time she loves cooking (especially Italian!), painting, spending time laughing with her husband, Charlie, and swimming.

Christine Pulle, Incoming President

Christine Pulle is the 2019 PTO Incoming (2020/21) Board President. She is the mother to fourth grader, Max, and first grader, Nora Cate, and future DMES Dragon, James. Outside of her school and parenting life, Christine is the Director of Operations at Breakpoint Advisors, a commercial real estate appraisal company. She holds a bachelor of business administration in marketing from Texas Tech University. She is also a native Nashvillian and proud MNPS alum.

Christine is passionate about supporting all of our public schools, and spends her spare time advocating and participating in local Nashville politics. Along with her spouse, Matt, and their kids, the Pulle family enjoys active time outside at our many fantastic local parks and greenways.

Tommie Allen, Co-Vice President

Tommie Allen is a 2019 PTO board member. This will be her second year on the board. Tommie enjoys helping out at the school. She has a daughter, Emelia, who will be in first grade. She also has 2 older kids, Ellie 7th grade, and Reuben 6th grade who are both Dan Mills alums. Tommie Holds a B.S. In Psychology from MTSU. She has worked as a Preschool teacher for 12+ years at West End Methodist Play School. She now is a full time mom and a part time baker out of her home. She is in her happy place making birthday and other event cakes for friends. She has been making cakes for over 20 years! She also loves hiking and biking with her family.

Kate Blocher, Co-Vice President

Kate Blocher hails from the great state of Indiana and has lived in Inglewood for 10 years with her husband, Ryan and three children: Hudson (11), Cord (6) and Indiana (4), all who have attended Dan Mills. She has served on the Dan Mills PTO Board for six years in various capacities including Treasurer, Co-VP, Communications and rescuer of children out of trees. Since her Hoosier Hoop Dreams never quite materialized, Kate is currently the President of Colts Chocolate Co. But, as a Jack of all trades, Master of none, she enjoys spending time participating in triathlons, gardening, cooking, creating Pinterest files she never uses and drinking all the coffee!

Dan Benningfield, Co-Vice President

Dan Benningfield is Co-Vice President for the 2019-2020 school year at Dan Mills. This is his second year on the board. His youngest son, Oliver, is a third grader. His oldest, Teddy, is entering seventh grade at Litton Middle. Teddy went to Dan Mills K-4 so the Benningfield family has been part of the Dan Mills Community for many wonderful years.

Dan was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He moved to Nashville in 2001, married in 2002, and moved to Boston 12 days later. He and his wife Meg spent six amazing years in Boston loving all the food, friends, and history the region could offer. They returned to Nashville in 2008 and have been in Inglewood ever since, establishing strong roots and even stronger friendships.

Dan has a degree in Communication from the University of Louisville. He has taught music to grades 1-8 and Junior High math and science. He loves helping kids grow and have fun. In his spare time he enjoys video games, music, science fiction, fantasy, and zombies. He and his family have also been curating an extensive board game library over the past several years.
