Describe your class/position/job in three words:

Music Specialist


When you were in 3rd grade, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a professional athlete---a sprint runner.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

"If you believe it will be fun, it will be fun. If you think it will be awful, it most likely will be awful." Marta Sanchez (my sister) gave me this advice when I was about 12 years old and I've transferred it into many other situations during my lifetime.

What is your favorite thing about DMES?

The positive culture inside the school!

What does a typical Saturday night look like for you?

A typical fall Saturday night during this pandemic has included a bonfire and a movie at home.

Fill in the blank: People would be surprised to learn that I ________.

I have summited 21 different mountains in Colorado that are over 14,000 feet in elevation. Hikers call those mountains 14ers.

Where do you go when you need some inspiration?

I go walking or hiking with Jesus.

What is one of your hidden talents?

I was taught SEE (Signing Exact English) in grades K-5 because I attended a school with classmates that used SEE to communicate.

What's your favorite song to sing karaoke to?

Who was your favorite teacher when you were in school, and what was it about them that you loved?

Mrs. Reid was one of my favorite teachers. She made me feel loved!
