Thanks to money from Dragon Dash we were able to enrich the Outdoor Classroom to create an engaging learning environment outside of the traditional classroom. First we cleared away brush, fixed up the landscaping, and replenished the playground mulch to refresh the space.
Next, we established educational stations for composting, gardening, rain collection, recycling, and weather monitoring. We installed a white board, new picnic tables and painted a foursquare court to allow for a wider range of activities. And we installed a new door keypad and gate lock to provide the teachers more convenient and secure access to the space. We hope to continue updates to this classroom so that it is a resource for students and teachers for many years to come.
